A self-paced course lets people start any day. A cohort starts on a date, moves together and has deadlines, which is why completion is usually higher.
In Arknox a cohort is a batch of students inside a course. You set a start date, open lessons on a schedule, add deadlines for assignments and add a link for each live class. Students get reminders, and you can see who is keeping up.
The live call itself runs on the tool you already use, such as Zoom or Google Meet. Arknox stores the link, tells students when it starts and keeps the schedule in one place.
